Walking festival showcases autumn in North Wales

Autumn is the perfect time of year for exploring the countryside and what better way to enjoy the seasonal colours of North Wales than with the Snowdonia Walking Festival?

The annual festival takes place at the beginning of November and offers walkers of all abilities the chance to participate in organised walks which take in some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in Britain.

Organised by the National Mountain Centre, Plas y Brenin, the walks are centred on Capel Curig, a pretty village in the heart of Snowdonia, and are led by some of the region’s most experienced walking guides who will ensure that walkers are well looked after and entertainingly informed about the places they visit.

A series of walks of different levels of difficulty and of different lengths have been planned, including shorter less difficult walks, such as along the river Llugwy to see the famously magical Swallow Falls near Betws-y-Coed, as well as more challenging walks such as a strenuous full day hike to the top of Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales.

“Autumn really can be a wonderful time for exploring the mountains and valleys of Snowdonia, and this year’s walking festival provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy the best of the season’s colours,” says Janet Redler, Chief Executive of Janet Redler Travel & Tourism. “The festival will offer walkers of all abilities a superb opportunity to get the most out of a visit to Snowdonia, thanks to the team of experienced and knowledgeable guides from Plas y Brenin.”
