Visitors to Hampton Court Palace will be able to travel back in time this festive season to experience the fun, drama and intrigue of an Elizabethan Christmas.

…It's Christmas 1592 and Queen Elizabeth I is at Hampton Court Palace. Her Master of the Revels, Edmund Tilney, is under pressure to create an unforgettable twelfth night celebration while balancing the needs of gossiping courtiers and unruly musicians under the ageing Queen’s ever watchful gaze…

The Palace’s inhabitants will be portrayed through drama, dance and musical performances in an Elizabethan festive extravaganza. Visitors will also have the chance to explore the luxurious state apartments and the bustling Tudor kitchens, which will be busy creating some of the period’s favourite Yuletide treats.

In addition to the Elizabethan celebrations, this Christmas once again there will be something for everyone at Hampton Court Palace. There will be carolling in the courtyards, musical performances, family activities, an elaborately dressed Christmas tree and even skating in the shadow of King Henry VIII’s famous pleasure palace.
