New film promotes Galway International Arts Festival

As Galway gets ready to welcome world-class theatre, thrilling street spectacles, headline music acts and much more for this year’s Galway International Arts Festival, Tourism Ireland has unveiled a new online film.

Specially created to highlight one of Ireland's most exciting summer events, which takes place from 16 to 29 July, the film aims to entice prospective holidaymakers from around the world to come and experience the great programme on offer and enjoy Galway and its hinterland.

The online video was produced by Tourism Ireland and features wonderful images of Galway – giving people everywhere a flavour of what to expect when they visit. It describes the festival as “one of the most eclectic and electric arts festivals in the world”.

Niall Gibbons, Chief Exective of Tourism Ireland, said: “We are delighted to unveil our latest online film showcasing Galway, which has been created to whet the appetites of potential visitors around the world and encourage them to come and experience this great festival.”

Janet Redler, Chief Executive of Janet Redler Travel and Tourism, added: "Galway International Arts Festival is one of Europe's leading arts festivals and I'm sure that this inspirational new film will help to encourage even more people to visit. With a packed programme of events in one of the world's friendliest cities, visitors will have a wonderful time!"

Tourism Ireland is the organisation responsible for promoting the island of Ireland overseas as a leading holiday destination.
