UK, Ireland... and the rest of Europe too!

Janet Redler Travel has many years’ experience delivering tailor-made tours and destination management services across the UK and Ireland, but did you know that we also offer tours to other parts of Europe?

In 2023 we were pleased to create tailor-made itineraries for clients to many different places in Europe, including France, Greece, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. Here are just some of our favourites.

Holland, Germany and the United Kingdom

In May, we organised a luxury tour of the Netherlands, Germany and the UK for a couple from California who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

The tour began in the Netherlands, with a stay in the lively city of Amsterdam, famous for its canals and bicycles. While in the Netherlands, our clients visited the world famous Keukenhof Gardens to see the spectacular annual tulip displays. Moving on to Germany in search of their family history, our clients stayed in Hamburg and Hanover, before returning to Amsterdam for their flights to the UK. Once in the United Kingdom, the couple enjoyed seeing Cornwall, the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and Scotland.

Our client Mark said: “Janet's team organized a three-week adventure as my wife and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary. It included visits to the Netherlands, Northern Germany, the UK and Scotland. We stayed in fabulous accommodations and our guided trips were led by expert and congenial guides. Highly recommended!”

France and Guernsey

A three-week tour to Europe saw an American family enjoying a visit to France and the delightful Channel Island of Guernsey with us. In Normandy, the family saw Giverny, the famous home and garden of painter Claude Monet, before moving on for a wine tour in the fabulous Loire Valley, Bordeaux and the Medoc.

Returning to northern France for the short hop by boat to Guernsey in the Channel Islands, the family particularly enjoyed the ‘Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society’ tour, experiencing for real the places mentioned in the popular book and film. The luxury tailor-made tour ended in Paris, one of the world’s most exciting cities.

Our client Annette said: “Thank you for planning a wonderful trip for us. We all enjoyed ourselves very much. I especially enjoyed Guernsey. (High Tea was my favorite event).”

Greece

In May and June, we organised the accommodation and transport for a tour to Greece following in the footsteps of St Paul. The two-week odyssey took in the incredible Greek capital Athens, with its iconic ancient monuments, the historic walled city of Thessaloniki, the beautiful ‘blue city’ of Kevala, on its rocky outcrop overlooking the Aegean Sea, and the idyllic island of Symi.

Greece is a fabulous destination for a vacation, bursting with history and heritage and famed for its warm Mediterranean climate, and we can take the legwork out of finding the best places to stay and getting around.

Normandy and Belgium

Last summer, we organised a nine-day tour of France and Belgium exploring the battlefields of two World Wars for a family group from California. Many of us have relatives or friends who were involved in those terrible 20th century conflicts, and a visit to the battlefields is a poignant way to remember the events that took place and, for younger generations, to understand more about what happened.

The tour started with a visit to Ypres in Belgium and a tour of the Flanders battlefields, before crossing the border into France to experience the sites of the Somme. The group then moved on to Normandy to see the D-Day Beaches, where 156,000 US, Canadian and British troops took part in the largest seaborne invasion in history, marking a turning point in World War Two.

We work with a number of expert guides who are highly knowledgeable about the war sites and who help to make our tours especially memorable.

Our client said: “We had a great trip, getting to spend some valuable time traveling with four generations of family. The primary reason for this trip was to show my father the war sites, and this was unquestionably accomplished. Thanks again for helping us with exactly the vacation we wanted.”

Our tours include the finest accommodation to meet the requirements and budget of our clients, and our Californian family especially enjoyed staying at Chateau d’Audrieu, an exceptional five-star hotel located between Caen and Bayeux in Normandy.

Our client enthused: “Outstanding hotel! My daughter declared it her favorite hotel ever. The rooms were all very nice, the grounds were amazing; the meals were first rate; I would go out of my way to stay there again.”

South of France

In the autumn, we organised an unforgettable trip to the sensational south of France. The tour began in the romantic French capital Paris, where our clients enjoyed seeing famous sights such as the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre, as well as relaxing on a River Seine cruise.

Next stop was the beautiful city of Nice on the French Riviera, famed for its palm tree fringed promenades and delicious fresh food, and then on to the tiny principality of Monaco, just a few miles away. The amazing harbour at the capital Monte Carlo is crammed with million-dollar yachts and its casino is world-famous.

As well as visiting the pretty town of Grasse, which is best known for its perfumeries, the group visited Aix-en-Provence and Arles, which have been inspiring artists for centuries. A walking tour of Avignon to see the famous bridge, and an unmissable wine experience in Chateauneuf-du-Pape completed the tour.

There are so many magnificent places to visit in Europe that our clients often return time and time again. If you or your group would like to enjoy your own tailor-made tour of Europe, please do contact our friendly team today and we will help to create your perfect European itinerary, with the finest hotels, delicious meals for all tastes and luxury transport to get you exactly where you want to go.
